(a leading 3PL/logistics brokerage located in Warren, MI) is actively hiring individuals within our Carrier and Operations teams. Working with McClay's allows the employee to focus on what they do best, service the customer and produce results. McClay's is currently seeking an inspired individual to help grow our Carrier Sales team. As a Carrier Representative, you will be responsible for maintaining and growing our Carrier base and scheduling assigned carriers to corresponding shipments, while providing proactive and reliable communication to Operations or Sales representatives.

Responsibilities:

Establish and maintain relationships with current Expedite and Truckload Carriers, while working to source and procure new carriers who fit our Carrier requirements. Ensure Carrier network is always receiving high service levels Use provided pricing tools and TMS system to find and drive the best pricing possible for all modes of transportation needed. Negotiate both Dedicated and Ad Hoc rates and manage all carrier related issues (i.e. breakdowns, check calls, late deliveries) Stay up to date on current market trends and use knowledge to complete pricing bids by set deadlines. Standard industry requirements of answering calls or emails off hours (when needed)

Requirements:

Previous Logistics experience in dedicated and ad hoc Expedite & Truckload routing preferred but not required Possess a genuine and enthusiastic personality while being highly motivated with a high work ethic and drive to push for results and success Strong communication skills are required including the ability to relay urgent information to Customer Reps in a timely manner and provide necessary information for track and trace Ability to work in a team environment, while also being independent and taking ownership of your work Ability to prioritize, multi-task and manage time effectively with minimal oversight Be driven to succeed, have confidence in your abilities and great verbal communication skills

Pay:

$45,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
