Freight Broker Join the Team at Long Haul Trucking Long Haul Trucking is seeking a motivated, customer-focused Freight Broker to join our operations team. As a Freight Broker, you'll play a vital role in connecting customers with reliable third-party carriers while ensuring exceptional service from pickup through delivery. This position is ideal for someone who is organized, detail-oriented, and passionate about the transportation industry. What You'll Do As a Freight Broker, you will: Source and qualify reputable third-party carriers to move customer freight. Develop and maintain strong relationships with carriers and customers. Research transportation companies and expand our carrier network. Coordinate freight movements using third-party logistics providers. Negotiate competitive rates while maintaining targeted profit margins. Monitor shipments from dispatch through final delivery, providing proactive communication and updates. Provide customers with transportation solutions that meet their unique needs. Identify and develop new freight brokerage business opportunities (sales bonus opportunities available). Maintain accurate carrier and equipment information within company systems. Collaborate with dispatch and operations teams to ensure outstanding customer service. Support other operational functions as business needs require. What We're Looking For The ideal candidate is: An excellent communicator with strong customer service skills. Calm and confident under pressure. Skilled at negotiating win-win solutions. Highly organized with exceptional attention to detail. A strong problem solver who enjoys thinking independently. Able to effectively prioritize multiple shipments and deadlines. Knowledgeable in freight routing and U.S. geography. Comfortable working with numbers and maintaining profitable margins. Self-motivated with excellent time management skills. Able to build lasting professional relationships. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required. Previous trucking, transportation, logistics, or freight brokerage experience required. Demonstrated ability to work independently and make sound decisions with minimal supervision.
