Service Support Representative (SSR) Halifax Linen Service

Do you like driving, staying active, and having variety in your workday? Halifax Linen Service is looking for a dependable and flexible Route Support Driver to join our Wilmington Service team as a Service Support Representative (SSR). This isn't a job where you'll spend your entire day sitting behind the wheel. Our SSR is the person we count on to step in wherever the Service team needs support. You may cover a Route Service Representative's route, ride with an RSR as a jumper/helper, make a special delivery or pickup, or help the team complete a busy route. This is a hands-on driving and delivery position

WHAT YOU'LL DO

Cover established customer routes when an RSR is absent, on vacation, in training, or when additional coverage is needed. Ride with RSRs as a jumper/helper to help complete routes safely and efficiently. Load and unload linen products. Deliver clean products and pick up soiled products at customer locations. Complete special deliveries, pickups, exchanges, and other service assignments. Learn multiple routes and customer locations throughout our service area. Safely operate Halifax Linen Service vehicles. Complete required vehicle inspections and route documentation. Communicate customer, product, route, or vehicle concerns to your supervisor. Step in wherever the Service team needs help getting the job done.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR A

valid driver's license and REAL ID are required at the time of hire. A CDL is not required. An acceptable driving record and ability to meet Halifax Linen Service driver qualification requirements. Dependability, strong attendance, and punctuality. Comfort with early morning start times. Availability to work primarily Monday-Friday, with occasional weekend work based on business needs. Willingness to perform both driving and physical route work. Comfort getting in and out of a vehicle repeatedly throughout the day. Ability to learn different routes and adjust when assignments change. Ability to work independently and as part of a route team. A professional approach when representing Halifax Linen Service at customer locations.

Commercial linen or uniform service experience is preferred, but it isn't required. We are also interested in applicants from similar route-based industries, including beverage delivery, foodservice distribution, uniform service, route delivery, route sales/service, parcel delivery, and commercial multi-stop delivery. Experience as a jumper/helper, relief driver, route driver, Route Service Representative, or similar hands-on delivery position is especially valuable.

THIS JOB IS PHYSICAL

Stand and walk throughout the workday, including walking up to five miles per day. Sit for prolonged periods while driving. Frequently get in and out of company vehicles. Climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, push, and pull. Repeatedly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds using proper lifting techniques. Reach above shoulder height and below the waist. Load, unload, carry, deliver, and retrieve products.
