Job Description

Summary Our client is seeking a relationship-driven Commercial Business Development Representative to lead growth within the Higher Education and Healthcare verticals, initially focused on the Greensboro market and surrounding region. This individual will be responsible for identifying, developing, and expanding relationships with colleges, universities, healthcare systems, hospitals, medical facilities, and other institutional organizations that can benefit from emergency response, restoration, reconstruction, and disaster recovery services. This is a true business development opportunity focused on building long-term institutional relationships rather than transactional selling. The successful candidate will develop relationships with key decision-makers, understand each organization's facilities and risk-management needs, build strategic account plans, and position the organization as a trusted restoration and recovery partner. As the organization continues to expand geographically, this role will also have the opportunity to develop and support Higher Education and Healthcare relationships in new markets and territories. Responsibilities Develop new business opportunities within the Higher Education and Healthcare sectors, including colleges, universities, hospitals, healthcare systems, medical facilities, and related institutional organizations Identify and build relationships with key stakeholders, including Facilities Directors, Risk Managers, Property Managers, Emergency Management personnel, Procurement leaders, Finance executives, and other organizational decision-makers Develop a targeted prospecting strategy for priority Higher Education and Healthcare accounts within the assigned territory Build and maintain a defined list of target accounts, active opportunities, and strategic relationships Conduct regular prospecting activity through calls, emails, in-person meetings, networking, industry associations, referrals, and professional events Schedule and conduct introductory meetings, facility discussions, presentations, and relationship-building meetings with prospective clients Educate clients and prospects on commercial restoration capabilities, emergency response services, reconstruction capabilities, and large-loss resources Develop a strong understanding of client facilities, operational priorities, emergency response requirements, procurement processes, and vendor qualification requirements Pursue opportunities to establish the organization as a preferred, approved, or prequalified restoration vendor Identify opportunities for emergency response agreements, preferred vendor relationships, disaster preparedness initiatives, and other strategic partnerships Maintain consistent contact with key accounts to strengthen relationships before, during, and after property-loss events Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, or a related field preferred; equivalent relevant experience may be considered 3+ years of experience in business development, sales, account management, commercial restoration, construction, facilities services, or a related field preferred Demonstrated ability to develop new business and build long-term relationships with institutional or commercial clients Experience selling into or working with Higher Education, Healthcare, or other large institutional organizations preferred Strong understanding of consultative business development and relationship-based sales Proven ability to identify key decision-makers and develop relationships across multiple levels of an organization Strong prospecting skills with the ability to generate new opportunities through calls, emails, networking, referrals, industry associations, and in-person meetings Excellent presentation, communication, and interpersonal skills Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple accounts and opportunities simultaneously Ability to understand client needs and develop strategic account plans Strong business acumen with the ability to understand facilities, risk management, procurement, and emergency response requirements Demonstrated ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with internal teams Willingness and ability to travel throughout the assigned territory as needed Comfortable working in a relationship-driven, field-based business development role #
SECON Pay:
$85,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
