Job Description

Outside Sales Representative
  • Transportation Job Summary We are seeking a driven, self-motivated Outside Sales Representative to expand our market share within the transportation industry.
You will be the face of our company in the field, responsible for building long-term partnerships with fleet owners, logistics companies, and independent operators. This is a "hunter" role requiring consistent prospecting, but success is equally tied to your ability to act as a transportation consultant for existing accounts. Account Management skills are also important in handling current active customers.
Key Responsibilities Business Development:
Proactively identify and secure new accounts through cold calling, networking, and regional market research.
Territory Management:
Plan and execute a daily schedule of face-to-face meetings within your assigned territory to maximize client "touchpoints".
Consultative Selling:
Analyze customer business models—such as fleet size, maintenance cycles, and operational hurdles—to propose tailored leasing, parts, or equipment solutions.
Relationship Management:
Maintain and grow a current book of business by conducting periodic reviews and acting as the primary point of contact for service issues.
Quote & Contract Negotiation:
Prepare detailed proposals and negotiate terms and pricing.
Internal Collaboration:
Partner with service managers, inventory departments, and ensure seamless delivery and customer satisfaction after the sale.
Required Qualifications Experience Preferred:
2+ years of B2B outside sales experience, ideally within heavy-duty truck parts, equipment leasing, or commercial service and sales .
Industry Knowledge:
Understanding of the transportation market, trucking operations, or mechanical aptitude related to heavy machinery.
Communication:
Exceptional interpersonal and presentation skills; ability to "speak the language" of both shop floor mechanics and corporate executives.
    Licensing:
    Must possess a valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
    • Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) Number of face-to-face customer visits per week.
    New originations or part sales growth within the territory. Account retention.
    Pay:
    From $90,000.00 per year
