Job Description

Legacy Farmers Cooperative is seeking an experienced, results-driven Agronomy Sales Manager to lead our agronomy sales team and strengthen customer relationships throughout our trade territory. This position combines sales leadership, team development, and hands-on customer engagement. The Agronomy Sales Manager will regularly accompany Crop Specialists on in-person sales calls, help identify customer needs, present agronomic solutions, and support the team in closing sales. Key Responsibilities Develop and lead sales programs for fertilizer, crop protection products, seed, precision agriculture, and scouting services. Establish sales goals and strategies that support company budgets, margin expectations, and growth objectives. Regularly accompany Crop Specialists on in-person sales calls with current and prospective customers. Actively assist with identifying customer needs, presenting solutions, strengthening relationships, and closing sales. Supervise, coach, and hold Crop Specialists accountable for sales goals, customer follow-up, and territory growth. Develop consistent sales processes, including account recordkeeping, call schedules, cold calling, customer follow-up, and seasonal promotions. Promote consistent use of Legacy's customer relationship management (CRM) system. Collaborate across all Legacy divisions to identify cross-selling opportunities. Support precision agriculture programs, including My FS Agronomy, soil testing, and H2Ohio. Coordinate demonstration and test plot programs, including MiField. Plan and conduct farmer, dealer, and customer meetings. Develop product promotions that align with established margin goals. Provide timely market and product information to the sales team and customers. Maintain strong knowledge of Legacy's full line of agronomy products and services. Support the training, certification, and professional development of Crop Specialists. Work closely with the Vice President of Agronomy and Agronomy Operations Managers. Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, member-patrons, vendors, and industry partners. Qualifications Bachelor's degree or equivalent relevant work experience. Agronomy sales, crop production, or related agricultural experience preferred. Previous sales leadership or supervisory experience preferred. Certified Crop Adviser (CCA) certification or the ability to obtain it. Knowledge of crop protection products, crop nutrients, fertilizer placement, and seed products—or the ability to develop this knowledge. Strong leadership, communication, relationship-building, and sales skills. Ability to coach employees, establish expectations, and maintain accountability for results. Valid driver's license with a driving record that meets Legacy Farmers Cooperative's insurance requirements. Ability to responsibly operate and care for assigned equipment, including a company vehicle when applicable. Schedule and Travel Primarily Monday through Friday, with additional hours required based on seasonal and business needs. Regular travel is required between Legacy Farmers Cooperative locations to support Crop Specialists, meet with customers, and collaborate with management. Flexibility and adaptability are necessary to meet changing customer and business demands.
Pay:
$90,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
