Job Description

JCL ENERGY
Inside Sales Specialist Product Team:
Inside Sales Business Unit:
Product Location:
Sharon, PA Reports To:
Director of Sales Operations Employment Type:
Full-time About JCL Energy JCL Energy designs, builds, rents, repairs, and services the transformers and power equipment that keep industry running. From our headquarters in Sharon, Pennsylvania and facilities in Wheatland, PA, Fountain Inn, SC, and Temple, TX, our teams support utilities, manufacturers, data centers, and construction partners across the country. We are growing fast, and our Sales organization is growing with us. The Role JCL Energy's business is growing, and we are building an Inside Sales Team to support that growth — for our customers and for our outside sales team. The Inside Sales Specialist is a critical position on that team: the liaison between our outside sales force and the operational execution team. The main goal of the role is to own and support pre- and post-order activity in whatever way the needs of our business and our customers require. This position supports the Product business unit — equipment sales, including transformers and related products. The pre-order side of the work centers on RFQ activity for the business unit — assisting the outside sales reps and owning RFQs as required; the post-order side is owning post-award activity, including purchase order reviews against our quotations and submission of closed-won orders to our Order Entry Team. You serve as the connection point between Outside Sales, manufacturers, and vendors, supporting logistics and Project Management as needed. You own the workflow for smaller, transactional opportunities end to end, and you provide coverage for the outside sales reps you support when they need it — a rep traveling, a time-sensitive customer request, or a spike in volume. On a rep's account, the rep retains the customer relationship, the deal, and its CRM record. Key Responsibilities Before the order Prepare quotes for smaller, transactional Product opportunities as needed. Work with the Director of Sales Operations to set pricing and commercial terms and turn quotes around the same business day whenever possible. Confirm technical specifications align with customer requests including ratings, voltages, configuration, enclosure type, and accessories — and escalate when a specification is unclear or incomplete. Confirm current manufacturer lead times before a delivery date is committed, recognizing that quoted lead times move, and communicate changes as they arise. Before an order is placed, reconfirm that pricing, freight, and terms still hold as quoted — and stay on top of follow-up for the open quotes in your backlog. After the order Support converting opportunities to closed-won in our CRM, then work with Order Management to create the sales order in our ERP system, and confirm the order details and ship date back to the customer and the outside sales rep. Support backlog management of open orders as required. Assist the Logistics team with delivery questions or issues for products that are ready, or nearly ready, to ship. Field customer invoicing, billing, and PO questions after the order, and support invoice accuracy against the order and freight charges. Coordinate warranty claims and RMA paperwork with the manufacturer. Across the role Act as the liaison between Outside Sales and the JCL Operations Team — the connection point that keeps quotes and orders moving — and bring in Project Management when a job calls for it. Provide coverage for the outside sales reps you support on pre- and post-order activity as needed. Maintain your own CRM records in HubSpot to a consistent standard: business-unit tag, line items, deal stage, Close Date, and terms-agreement property, at every stage. Escalate an opportunity to the outside sales rep when it grows beyond the small-account threshold. What Success Looks Like Success in this role means accurate, timely RFQ quotes; customer purchase orders that align with our quotations before release to Order Entry; current open-order tracking; prompt resolution of post-order questions; and confidence from the outside sales reps you support that their RFQs and orders are covered. Qualifications 1-3 years of experience in inside sales, order management, sales support, or B2B customer service, ideally in an industrial, equipment, or service environment. Strong attention to detail. Ensure orders are accurate and post-order questions are addressed promptly. Comfortable reading electrical equipment specifications — transformer ratings, voltages, configurations, and enclosures accurately. Proficiency with CRM data entry and basic pricing math. Clear written and phone communication for customer-facing quoting, order confirmation, and follow-up. A collaborative approach — you will work closely with the outside sales reps in your business unit and with the operations teams that fulfill the work. High school diploma or equivalent required. Preferred Experience with order management, quotation support, or long-lead-time equipment. Familiarity with electrical distribution or power equipment. Prior experience with HubSpot or a comparable CRM. How We Work — The JCLES Values Journey Driven. We look forward, not backward. You will own your development and help build what comes next. Customer Obsessed. Every call, every follow-up, every CRM note serves the customer's outcome first. Leadership at All Levels. Title doesn't set your influence. Bring the idea, own the result. We Bring Energy. Urgency, optimism, and effort are the baseline here. Safety First Always. We protect each other, our customers, and the communities we power.
