Salary:
Up to $120,000, depending on experience Position Overview A growing financial institution is seeking an experienced Business Development Officer to develop profitable commercial banking relationships and expand its presence within the local business community. This individual will deliver exceptional service while identifying opportunities to connect clients with appropriate banking products and services. The position will focus on growing business and personal deposits, deepening existing relationships, generating qualified referrals and developing new business throughout the assigned market. Essential Responsibilities Develop new business banking relationships through proactive prospecting, networking and relationship-building activities. Strengthen existing client relationships by identifying financial needs and increasing the use of appropriate products and services. Grow deposit accounts, lending opportunities and non-interest income within the assigned market. Originate new business and personal deposit relationships while providing ongoing account service. Generate qualified referrals for commercial lending, branch banking, mortgage lending and treasury-management partners. Partner with internal banking teams to prepare and present customized business-banking proposals. Provide knowledgeable sales support for business-banking products and services. Maintain a visible and positive presence at community, networking and business-development events. Stay informed about available products, market trends and opportunities to improve client solutions. Maintain required documentation and perform responsibilities in accordance with applicable policies, procedures, laws and regulations. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required. Associate degree in business or a related field preferred. Five or more years of experience with a financial institution or equivalent relevant experience. Business banking, retail banking, deposit development or related relationship-management experience preferred. Demonstrated consultative sales and business-development ability. Strong interpersonal, presentation, writing and verbal communication skills. Self-motivated, organized and capable of managing multiple priorities. Strong attention to detail, accuracy and timely follow-through. Ability to maintain confidentiality and work effectively across teams. Valid driver's license and reliable transportation for client and community visits. Why Consider This Opportunity?
