Job Overview:
Reporting directly to the Director of Commercial Development, the Commercial Project Coordinator serves as the central point of coordination for the Commercial Sales organization. This role manages cross-functional projects, commercial initiatives, sales campaigns, customer events, and strategic programs from planning through completion. The position partners with Sales, Marketing, Operations, Engineering, Construction, Finance, Legal, Product, and Government Affairs to ensure projects remain on schedule , stakeholders remain informed, and deliverables are executed successfully. The ideal candidate is exceptionally organized, proactive, and capable of managing multiple priorities while providing leadership with accurate project updates and actionable status reporting. Required Experience & Skills Minimum of three (3) years of experience coordinating projects, programs, sales operations, commercial initiatives, or business operations in a fast-paced environment. Minimum of three (3) years of experience utilizing project management platforms such as Monday.com, Asana, ClickUp, Microsoft Project, Smartsheet, Jira, or similar. Minimum of three (3) years of experience working with CRM platforms such as Salesforce, Connectly, HubSpot, Microsoft Dynamics, Zoho CRM, ConnectWise, or similar. Demonstrated experience coordinating multiple concurrent projects while meeting deadlines. Advanced proficiency with Microsoft 365. Demonstrated ability to coordinate cross-functional teams without direct supervisory authority. Excellent organizational, communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Preferred Qualifications Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Project Management, Marketing, Communications, or a related field preferred but not required. Equivalent professional experience will be considered. Experience in telecommunications, ISP, technology, engineering, construction, or commercial sales. Experience coordinating E-Rate opportunities, government procurements, and formal RFP/RFQ response processes. Working knowledge of Agile, Waterfall, Hybrid, or similar project management methodologies. PMP, CAPM, Agile, Scrum, or similar certifications are preferred but not required. Job Responsibilities Serve as the primary coordinator for commercial projects, sales campaigns, customer events, and strategic initiatives. Develop and maintain project plans, timelines, milestones, executive status reports, and documentation. Maintain Monday.com project boards and CRM reporting. Monitor E-Rate procurement opportunities by regularly reviewing
USAC EPC
postings and other approved procurement sources for RFPs, RFIs, and related bid opportunities that align with Nextlink's current and planned service footprint. When strategically appropriate, identify and coordinate pursuit of select opportunities outside of Nextlink's footprint, including Type 2 E-Rate projects and internet service opportunities that align with the company's growth objectives and operational capabilities. Evaluate E-Rate opportunities against Nextlink's network footprint and coordinate with the Director of Commercial Development to determine strategic fit and pursuit decisions. When strategically appropriate, identify and coordinate pursuit of select opportunities outside of Nextlink's footprint, including Type 2 E-Rate projects and internet service opportunities that align with the company's growth objectives and operational capabilities. Coordinate with internal stakeholders and the Director of Commercial Development to develop pricing, responses, approvals, and timely submission of E-Rate and other strategic opportunities. Coordinate post-award handoffs to Engineering, Operations, and other departments. Facilitate communication between Sales, Marketing, Engineering, Construction, Operations, Finance, Legal and other stakeholders. Track project risks, dependencies and deliverables while escalating issues when necessary. Maintain project boards and commercial project documentation. Maintain electronic file management systems, project documentation, and internal knowledge bases to support team continuity and institutional knowledge. Support CRM-related commercial initiatives, reporting requests and pipeline visibility. Coordinate MDU, strategic development and other commercial growth projects as assigned. Coordinate vendor activities related to commercial initiatives and events. Coordinate with Engineering, Construction, Network Operations, Finance, and other internal stakeholders to gather the information required for serviceability, pricing, and proposal development. Work directly with the Director of Commercial Development to assemble pricing requests, coordinate internal approvals, and ensure bid responses are accurate and submitted within required timelines. Maintain an organized pipeline of E-Rate opportunities, proposal deadlines, awarded projects, and post-award milestones, and provide regular status updates to Commercial leadership. Coordinate the handoff of awarded E-Rate projects to the appropriate internal teams to support successful implementation and customer onboarding. Perform other duties as assigned.
Travel Requirements:
Limited travel may be required to support commercial meetings, customer events, industry conferences and project activities. Work Location & Schedule This is a full-time, on-site position based at Nextlink's corporate headquarters in Hudson Oaks, Texas. Employees are expected to work from the office Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Remote, hybrid, or telecommuting arrangements are not available for this position. Physical Requirement This position is primarily sedentary and performed in an office environment. The employee may occasionally lift or move materials up to 20 lbs.
