COMPENSATION
$75,000+ base plus commission, or full-commission at accelerated pace — see Compensation, below The Role This is eDesign Group's sales seat — You will carry your own quota from day one, and you will carry it in the field: this is an outside sales role, not a retail or inside-sales position, and it is not an entry-level one. You already know how to build a book of business by selling directly to ultra-high-net-worth clients and the architects, builders, and designers. As the role matures, so does its scope. You will be expected to bring the discipline of a sales leader to the pipeline you build — documented process, clean handoffs to engineering, and, as eDG adds sales headcount, the standard the next hire is measured against. If it isn't revenue-generating, it isn't yours to carry — our engineers, project managers, installers, programmers, and service technicians take it from there. Core Accountabilities 01
  • Revenue & Quota Own an annual quota on a three-year ramp — $1M in Year 1, $1.5M in Year 2, $2M in Year 3. You have done this before, in a comparable market, and you know what it takes to do it again. 02
  • Referral & Trade Relationships Build and hold the referral relationships that keep the pipeline full — architects, general contractors, owners' representatives, interior designers, and adjacent trades.
These are annuity relationships:
cultivated once, they keep paying out. 03
  • Client Relationships Establish and maintain revenue-generating relationships with UHNWI clients, and keep them satisfied enough to become a referral source themselves. The relationship outlasts the invoice. 04
  • Pipeline Discipline Run your pipeline through our CRM — leads, opportunities, activities, probability, close date, and next step, kept current. Determine scope of work and make sure every proposal is built to match what the client actually needs, not a generic package. 05
  • Building the Function Bring structure to what you do well enough that it can be taught.
As eDG adds sales capacity, you are the standard — the playbook, the pipeline hygiene, the client-relationship discipline — that the next hire is trained against.
Background We're Looking For Ideal:
three-plus years selling to UHNWI clients in the built or construction environment, with direct experience selling residential or commercial audio/video, networking, Lutron lighting and shading, Control4, Savant, Crestron control systems, high-end home cinema and audio, or video conferencing.
Acceptable:
a comparable track record selling electrical, security, networks, lighting controls and fixtures, building management systems, or other technology into the built environment. History with, in order of fit: A residential or commercial technology integration firm — the closest match to this seat. An owners' representative, an architectural representative, or an outside sales role for a premium architectural products brand. Business development for a trade — electrical or similar — provided the work carried a real technology focus. This is not retail. You produce your own book of business. A complete and accurate plan is what brings a client's project to life — it streamlines installation, reduces waste, and prevents the errors that a rushed plan invites. We build that plan alongside the client, then execute it precisely, so that what they experience in the finished home matches what we designed for them from the start. Born in Hawai'i.
