Job Summary The Sales Support Specialist is an entry-level, support-focused role that helps the sales team execute retailer plans. This person builds customer presentations, supports deployment of sales tools and campaign materials, training and webinars, audits key account planning calendars, and compiles competitive retailer insights for the sales leadership team. The role also supports retail execution by coordinating audits and helping ensure promotions, co-op ads and in-store commitments are delivered. Key Responsibilities Build and maintain customer presentations for regional and national retailers (line reviews, innovation, category stories, JBP support, recaps). Create retailer-ready narratives by translating brand priorities, product benefits/claims, and performance data into clear, concise slides. Support sales campaign development by assisting in campaign toolkits (campaign overview, target accounts, key messages, assets checklist, timelines). Assist in coordinating training and webinars: scheduling, materials, run-of-show, and follow-up documentation. Coordinate meeting logistics (agendas, pre-reads, invites, notes, action-item tracking) for internal and external meetings. Maintain commercial support files and shared folders, including version control and "one source of truth" organization. Support the execution of the sales, campaign and innovation calendars as needed Coordinate and/or support shelf audits (store visits where feasible and/or broker/store photo audits), including shelf presence, pricing, tags, out-of-stocks, planogram compliance, and merchandising. Track execution issues and help close the loop with brokers, retailers, and internal teams; document actions and outcomes.
Support co-op advertising execution:
gather requirements, confirm timing/placement, and work with marketing to execute. Maintain a simple execution tracker/scorecard by key account and region.
Monitor competitor activity by retailer:
assortment, pricing, promotions, claims/messaging, merchandising, and visibility. Compile retailer-specific insights and recommendations to support go-to-market plans (assortment focus, promo approach, merchandising moments, messaging).
Required Education and Experience Education :
Bachelor's degree in finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, or related field (or near completion. Or an equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience
Experience :
Strong PowerPoint / Google Slides skills (clean layout, story flow, executive-ready output). Strong Excel skills (basic analysis; pivots/lookups preferred). Strong organization, attention to detail, and follow-through across multiple projects. Clear written communication and comfort working cross-functionally. Required Qualifications Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to follow and apply instructions in standard situations Professional interpersonal skills, including the ability to navigate challenging interactions and resolve conflicts effectively Clear, concise, and confident communication skills (verbal and written), with strong active listening abilities Ability to build relationships and establish trust with colleagues, clients, and external networks Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize effectively, and meet deadlines Self-motivated with a proactive approach to learning and delivering high-quality work Ability to work independently with minimal guidance in a fast-paced environment Sound judgment and decision-making skills Maintains confidentiality and handles sensitive information with discretion Collaborative team player with strong communication and teamwork skills.
