Brokerage Manager Elite Logistics | Spartanburg, SC Elite Logistics is a growing asset-based transportation and logistics company expanding our freight brokerage division. We are seeking an experienced Brokerage Manager to lead the day-to-day brokerage operation and help build it into a profitable, scalable business unit. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who understands freight brokerage, carrier management, pricing, customer service, and team development. Responsibilities Manage daily freight brokerage operations from load tender through delivery Source, negotiate with, and manage qualified carriers Ensure loads are covered efficiently while maintaining target margins Monitor shipments and proactively resolve service issues Develop and maintain strong carrier relationships and repeat capacity Work with Sales on pricing, customer opportunities, and new lanes Coordinate with Elite's asset division to determine whether freight should move on company equipment or through brokerage Track brokerage revenue, gross profit, margin, loads, service performance, and other KPIs Establish processes and operating standards for the brokerage division Recruit, train, and manage brokerage employees as the division grows Identify opportunities to improve profitability and scale the operation Qualifications 3+ years of freight brokerage or 3PL experience preferred Brokerage management or team leadership experience strongly preferred Strong knowledge of truckload freight, spot markets, pricing, and carrier negotiations Experience with TMS platforms, load boards, and carrier-vetting tools Strong understanding of gross margin and load profitability Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and take ownership of results Experience building or scaling a brokerage operation is a major plus Ideal Candidate We are looking for more than an experienced freight broker.
