Key Responsibilities Business Development:
Identify and establish contact with potential customers through cold calling, field visits, and community outreach.
Consultative Selling:
Meet with clients in person to assess project needs and recommend suitable materials like mulch, compost, soil blends, and aggregates.
Estimating & Quoting:
Provide accurate material quotes for customers and potential customers.
Relationship Management:
Build long-term partnerships with industry stakeholders and resolve customer issues related to deliveries or product quality.
Market Analysis:
Monitor competitor pricing, industry trends, and emerging construction projects within the assigned territory.
Logistics Coordination:
Work with internal teams to schedule material deliveries and ensure project timelines are met.
Required Skills & Qualifications Experience:
2+ years of outside sales experience, ideally within the landscape or hardscape supply industry.
Product Knowledge:
Familiarity with horticulture, plant identification, or construction materials like aggregate and drainage systems is a plus.
Technical Skills:
Proficiency in CRM software (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot) and Microsoft Office for tracking leads and managing the sales pipeline.
Communication:
Exceptional negotiation and presentation skills, with the ability to close deals at various levels, from contractors to C-suite executives.
Travel:
A valid driver's license and the ability to travel extensively throughout the designated territory (often up to 90% local travel), and attend occasional trade shows.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to walk through yards, plants, and construction sites in various weather conditions.
Compensation & Benefits Pay Structure:
Competitive Base Pay + Commission and potential
Commission Bonus Benefits:
Include Medical, Dental, & Vision. A new 401k plan will be in effect within 6 months of employment.
