Base salary commensurate with experience + commission opportunity Position Summary Mountaineer Employment Solutions is seeking an experienced, motivated Solutions Sales Specialist / Account Executive to support one of our clients in developing new business, managing existing customer relationships, and providing customized technology and system solutions. This is an outside sales position focused on prospecting, account development, consultative selling, and long-term customer relationship management within an assigned territory. The Solutions Sales Specialist will work closely with customers to identify technical and business needs and recommend solutions involving access control, video surveillance, IT infrastructure, IP-based critical communication systems, aftermarket services, and support agreements. The ideal candidate will be comfortable combining sales and relationship-building skills with technical knowledge and project coordination. Travel within the assigned territory is required to meet with customers, conduct site visits, and support projects. Key Responsibilities Sales & Business Development Develop new business opportunities through prospecting, networking, outreach, and relationship building. Schedule and conduct face-to-face meetings with prospective and existing customers. Develop, maintain, and manage customer and prospect lists within assigned territory. Build strong, long-term relationships with customers through a consultative sales approach. Identify customers' technical and business needs and recommend appropriate products, systems, and services. Conduct phone, email, and written outreach to prospective customers. Perform regular customer visits to maintain relationships and identify additional sales opportunities. Follow up on budgets, estimates, and proposals to determine project status, timelines, and next steps. Maintain accurate records of customer interactions, opportunities, proposals, and account activity. Prepare weekly schedules, sales activity reports, and status updates for management. Promote service agreements, system upgrades, integrations, additions, modifications, and other aftermarket solutions. Customer & Project Support Conduct site surveys and gather information necessary to evaluate customer needs. Maintain information regarding customer systems and equipment at their facilities. Provide customers with pricing and cost information for system improvements, upgrades, and service agreements. Conduct on-site and web-based product demonstrations and reviews. Visit project sites to gather information, answer questions, and assist with project coordination. Work directly with end users to evaluate system operation and recommend improvements. Provide customer training and ongoing support as appropriate. Assist with assigned projects from initial customer needs assessment through completion. Support estimating personnel by gathering and providing relevant project and customer information. Maintain knowledge of applicable codes, industry requirements, and vendor systems. Proposals & Order Management Prepare cost estimates, proposals, scopes of work, and system layout information. Conduct and document customer and end-user needs assessments. Maintain accurate system configuration files and as-built project information. Coordinate with vendors and internal departments regarding order status, project requirements, and deliverables. Communicate project schedules and expectations clearly to customers. Assist with invoice and payment coordination as it relates to customer accounts and projects. Manage customer expectations throughout the sales and project lifecycle. Cross-Department Collaboration Coordinate with construction, project management, service, estimating, and technical teams regarding customer and project needs. Communicate contractor schedules and project requirements to appropriate internal personnel. Assist with coordinating end-user needs assessments and establishing project expectations. Support the transition from project completion to aftermarket service and ongoing customer support. Maintain effective communication among customers, contractors, vendors, and internal teams. Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications Previous experience in outside sales, account management, business development, technical sales, or a related field. Demonstrated ability to prospect for and qualify new sales opportunities. Strong customer relationship management and consultative selling skills. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple customers, projects, and deadlines. Ability to read and understand technical specifications and construction drawings. Experience with Microsoft Office programs, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and Teams. Comfortable learning and working with technical systems, products, and industry-specific software. Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with sales, technical, service, and project teams. Ability and willingness to travel within an assigned territory. The successful candidate must be comfortable traveling to customer locations and project sites as needed. Regular communication with management regarding sales activity, project progress, customer needs, and upcoming priorities is expected.
