Tecnadyne, a San Diego-based manufacturer of subsea propulsion systems, is seeking an experienced Inside Sales Manager to lead and support a small inside sales team while remaining actively involved in day-to-day sales activities. This is a hands-on "player-coach" role responsible for managing 1-2 Inside Sales Representatives, supporting customers, processing quotes and orders, and driving exceptional customer service. The ideal candidate will combine strong leadership skills with technical sales experience and a passion for building customer relationships in a fast-paced manufacturing and engineering environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Sales Support:
Lead and support the inside sales function, including quote generation, order processing, customer follow-up, and sales administration. Actively perform inside sales responsibilities while managing team workload and priorities.
Customer Interaction:
Serve as the primary point of contact for key customer accounts and inbound inquiries. Provide exceptional customer service, address technical questions, and ensure timely resolution of customer issues.
Product Knowledge:
Develop and maintain an in-depth understanding of Tecnadyne's products, applications, and capabilities. Train and mentor team members to effectively support customers and identify solutions.
Account Management:
Manage strategic customer accounts while overseeing account activity across the inside sales team. Ensure all data is accurate and current. Foster long-term customer relationships and identify opportunities for growth.
CRM Management:
Ensure accurate maintenance of customer records, sales activities, opportunities, and reporting within the CRM system. Monitor pipeline activity and provide sales performance updates to management.
Order Processing:
Oversee and participate in the timely and accurate processing of customer orders. Coordinate with operations, production, logistics, and procurement teams to ensure customer requirements are met.
Problem Solving:
Collaborate with engineering, operations, and production teams to develop solutions for customer challenges. Assist team members in resolving complex customer issues and technical inquiries.
Sales Initiatives:
Support inbound sales opportunities, customer follow-up activities, lead generation efforts, and account development initiatives. Help drive revenue growth while maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction.
Communication:
Foster effective communication between customers and internal departments. Lead team meetings, provide coaching and guidance, and ensure alignment across sales, engineering, production, and operations teams.
Team Leadership:
Directly supervise, coach, and develop 1-2 Inside Sales Representatives. Establish priorities, monitor performance, support professional development, and help create a positive, customer-focused team culture.
Qualifications:
Leadership Skills:
Proven ability to lead, mentor, or supervise inside sales, customer service, or sales support personnel.

Ability to manage multiple priorities, balance leadership responsibilities with individual contributions, and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Computer Skills:
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint), CRM software (HubSpot preferred), and ERP systems.
Technical Knowledge:
Familiarity with technical, industrial, manufacturing, or electro-mechanical products. Attention to

Strong attention to detail and accuracy in quoting, order processing, customer account management, and reporting.

Preferred Skills:
Experience leading an inside sales, customer service, or sales support team. Experience in a technical, manufacturing, industrial, or engineered products environment. Understanding of supply chain, manufacturing, and logistics processes. Knowledge of electro-mechanical systems or related technologies. Strong initiative, leadership presence, and results-oriented mindset. Experience supporting both customer service and revenue-generating sales activities.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, or a related field preferred but not required. 7+ years of inside sales, technical sales, account management, or customer support experience. 2+ years of leadership, supervisory, or team lead experience preferred. Experience within manufacturing, engineering, industrial, or technical product environments strongly preferred.

Compensation:
$110,000 to $150,000 annually, depending on experience.
