representatives can make personalized recommendations tailored to each farm. They know every acre, every soil structure, every crop, every plant within their perimeter. The Zone Director will lead our growing team in the Midwest. They will develop and implement growth strategies, support a dedicated sales team, and foster strong relationships with retail partners and growers. By listening to farmers and understanding the needs of soils and plants, you will innovate, enrich and refine our solutions, becoming more than a source of products, but a resource that customers can count on for knowledge and service. What will you do? Oversee the performance and productivity of a sales team of 3 Regional Sales Managers (RSMs) and a growing team of over 15 Agronomic Technical Consultants (ATCs) in the Midwestern Zone, which encompasses the states of ND, SD, NE, KS, OK, MN, IA, MO, WI and IL. Develop and execute data-driven sales strategies to achieve revenue and growth targets. Act as an entrepreneurial leader, fostering a high-performance sales culture and continuous growth. Be the subject matter expert on all products and facilitate training sessions on products, sales techniques, gross margin management, and expense control. Collaborate weekly with RSMs, Product Managers, and Marketing Managers to align on strategies and updates. Manage RSMs and ATCs, including addressing performance issues, both victories and challenges, support training and development and enhancing sales strategies to reach targets and goals, leading to overall profitability. Oversee CRM optimization, pipeline hygiene, and reporting to provide clear visibility into forecasting and market opportunities. Support ATCs in meeting sales goals, managing time off, and controlling expenses. Conduct regular ride-alongs with ATCs to support their development and ensure best practices. Personally engage with distributors, growers and clients on a regular basis or as requested by RSMs or ATCs. Host effective grower meetings to understand grower challenges, strengthen and build relationships with customers. Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
What will it take? Bachelor's degree in Agronomy or a related field or equivalent experience. Broad knowledge and experience in the agriculture field. 5+ years' experience in sales management, preferably in Agriculture. Ability to lead by example, train and develop employees. Expert-level proficiency in CRM software, forecasting, and interpreting financial/sales analytics. Ability to analyze sales data and generate insightful reports. Strategic thinking and problem-solving skills. Ability to communicate effectively to individuals and/or groups. Proficiency in Microsoft suite. Certified Crop Advisor (CCA) preferred.
