Yes No Job Summary The primary responsibility of the Operations Lead is to execute various facility operations duties in a cross-functional capacity within the distribution center, adhering to established protocols. These activities include shipping, receiving, inventory management, loading, unloading, picking, and packing customer orders. Moreover, the Lead may operate material handling equipment, like forklifts, to facilitate inventory movement, relocation, stacking, and counting. Additionally, overseeing general facility tasks falls within the Lead's tasks. A qualified candidate must ensure accurate and punctual order fulfillment, maintain facility organization and safety, and provide supervision and training to staff members. Essential Duties Assists in the oversight of staff and ensures timely completion of tasks. Ensures all staff members adhere to safety protocols and utilizes equipment in a safe manner. Coordinates and supports daily inventory control activities, including cycle counts. Assists in loading and unloading trucks as needed. Locates products in storage locations and transports them to designated storage or picking locations. Stocks inventory in the designated location as instructed by the Warehouse Manager. Prints shipping labels and affixes them to parcels. Picks and packs customer orders efficiently and accurately. Assembles customers' orders and stacks onto pallets. Identifies possible hazards and reports them to the supervisor in a timely manner. Ensures that the inventory yard adheres to the first in first out procedures. Maintains organization and cleanliness of work area in compliance with 5S objectives, ensuring no safety hazards exist. Performs other duties as assigned. Qualifications, Skills, Abilities and Educational Requirements Required 2 - 4 years of experience in shipping in a manufacturing environment Certification in forklift or willingness to obtain certification Demonstrated proficiency in operating material handling equipment, including the capability to uphold annual certification requirements Experience working in a fast paced and high-volume work environment Basic knowledge of simple math concepts Ability to multi-task and manage priorities in an efficient manner Proactive "self-starter" with a strong attention to detail. Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written Preferred High School Diploma/GED Key Competencies Inter-Relationships Consistent interaction with other hourly team members and management. Will interact with employees in HR, Purchasing, Customer Service, as well as external drivers/carriers. Working Conditions and Physical Demands Work Environment This position works in a distribution work setting with 8 dock doors. Frequently exposed to seasonal temperatures of excessive cold or heat.
