Feed and water livestock and monitor food and water supplies. Herd livestock to pastures for grazing or to scales, trucks, or other enclosures. Examine animals to detect illness, injury, or disease, and to check physical characteristics, such as rate of weight gain. Provide medical treatment, such as administering medications and vaccinations, or arrange for veterinarians to provide more extensive treatment. Segregate animals according to weight, age, color, and physical condition. Maintain livestock equipment, livestock machinery, buildings, pens, yards, and fences. Move livestock equipment or livestock from one location to another on the farm. Clean stalls, pens, and livestock equipment, using disinfectant solutions, brushes, shovels, water hoses, or pumps. Shift animals between grazing areas to ensure that they have sufficient access to food. Patrol grazing lands on horseback or using all-terrain vehicles. Drive to town for cattle supplies on occasion. No CDL Required and no commercial truck driving required. Housing is provided. Reimbursement for transportation and subsistence is also offered. Transportation will be provided at no cost to workers, from employer-provided housing and, if applicable, centralized pick-up points to the places of employment at the beginning of each workday and back at the end of each work day.
