Company Overview:

Congdon's is a beloved family restaurant and bakery that has been serving our community for 70 years. We take pride in our delicious products and exceptional service, fostering a positive culture for our staff and we are looking for full-time, year-round employees to join our team! We are open from 6am - 2pm, with time for opening & closing added to each end. This position offers a flexible schedule, great for working parents, college students, etc. While we are currently open daily, we will reduce days between mid-September and early October depending on available staff. Our off season hours will then adjust to being open Thursday - Sunday for the winter and early Spring. This year we will close December 21st and remain closed until mid/late January for a winter break. A furlough package will be available to those that qualify during this time. The pay range stated above includes our pooled tips. We have a shared tip system, this way everyone on the team helps each other out. This creates a great atmosphere of hard-working people.

Starting pay, for full-time, year-round employees is $16 an hour and on average, tips add an additional $6-10/ hour to your hourly rate paid out through your paycheck. We consider full time as an average of 30+ hours each week. Part time positions may also be available at $14-$16/hour based on availability and skills. Maine Pay Transparency Law requires we post the base pay range for the Counter 1 position which is $11-$17/hour plus tips.

Duties:

Using point of sales system at the bakery counter and drive through window and independently taking orders• Learning all stations; coffee, sandwich, expo & doughnut decorating. See notes for descriptions• Complete daily cleaning lists both independently and as a team Provide amazing customer service & always representing Congdon's in a positive light Serve quality products Jumping into the back of house to help when needed; doing dishes, cleaning, etc. Be able to communicate well with others Be flexible so that you can be wherever you are needed Maintain positive attitude Work well in fast-paced w/ precision and organization

Job Requirements:

Must be able to work with others as a team Must be able stand throughout the entirety of the shift Must have the ability to lift a minimum of 25 pounds Must be able to multitask and work efficiently Must have reliable transportation and arrive on time for shift

Job Stations:

POS Station:

Using Toast to take guests orders both accurately and efficiently at both the counter register and the drive through, handling card & cash payments,

Coffee Station:

Making hot/iced coffees, teas, and lattes as well as cocktails and flavored energy drinks by following written recipes.

Sandwich Station:

Preparing sandwiches with the following items; eggs, cheese, assorted meats, bagels, English muffins, croissants and biscuits.

Expo Station:

Correctly gathering all bakery items; doughnuts, muffins, scones, doughnut holes, etc. Pieces orders together from the other 2 stations and once complete, handing out orders to the guests who are waiting.

Doughnut Decorating:

Decorating doughnuts as needed and making sure the showcase is always full.
