Job Description
Join our team at Spikes and Houles Feed Stores! We are a small, community-oriented feed store in Maple Plain, MN, committed to delivering top-notch service to our customers. We're currently looking for a reliable, motivated, and hardworking individual to join our team as a Stock Associate. This position offers an estimated 20-25 hours per week. Availability to work Monday and Thursday 3:00 PM-7:00 PM and Saturdays from 12:00 PM-6:00 PM.
Please note:
This is a physically demanding, hands-on role that requires frequent lifting, loading, unloading, bending, and working both indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions. Candidates should be comfortable performing physical labor throughout their shift. Key Responsibilities Provide excellent customer service by loading feed and merchandise into customer vehicles. Receive incoming shipments, unload trucks, and stock inventory using equipment such as hand dollies, forklifts, and pallet jacks. Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment. Manage stock rotation and care for seasonal plants. Perform light maintenance duties around the building and grounds. Pull retail and commercial orders daily and ensure they're ready for customers. Assist with shipping, including assembling, addressing, and stamping orders. Participate in inventory audits. Fill customer propane tanks safely and accurately (or be willing to learn proper propane filling procedures and complete any required training). Take on special tasks and projects as needed. Skills & Competencies Strong multitasking, prioritization, and organizational skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail. Able to accurately pull orders by reading loading tickets. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Exceptional customer service skills and a willingness to go the extra mile. Team player with a positive attitude and strong work ethic. Ongoing communication with team members and customers. Qualifications Must be 18 years or older to operate heavy equipment (forklift, skid loader, etc.). Must be available to work beyond the summer season. Prior warehouse, stocking, farm, feed, landscaping, or other physically active work experience is a plus, but not required. Experience filling propane tanks or willingness to learn. Physical Requirements Frequent bending, kneeling, stooping, and reaching. Frequent carrying, moving, and positioning of objects weighing up to 60 pounds. Regular loading and unloading of feed, merchandise, and customer orders. Ability to work on your feet for extended periods and perform physical tasks throughout the shift.
