About Us Serene Green is a year-round farm stand and specialty food market in Sag Harbor. We pride ourselves on offering the community with fresh, local produce, seafood, prepared foods, juices, coffee, bakery items, flowers and specialty items -- all with friendly service and attention to detail. Position Overview We are looking for a dependable, friendly associate to join our team. This role is hands on and varied from ringing up customers to stocking shelves and ensuring the highest quality standards in our produce and products. Responsibilities Operate the cash register and handle customer transactions accurately Answer phones and provide helpful, courteous customer service Stock shelves and displays with fresh produce, specialty foods, and merchandise Maintain quality control of produce and other perishable items Check in orders and take inventories Keep the farm stand clean, organized and welcoming Assist with daily opening and closing procedures Work collaboratively with other team members Option to work as a barista and make espresso beverages Qualifications Previous retail, farm stand or customer service experience preferred but not required Friendly, positive attitude and strong communication skills Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment Comfortable with basic math, handling cash/credit transactions Able to lift up to 40 pounds and stand for extended periods of time Must be comfortable working in weather conditions that are hot, wet and cold at times Schedule & Compensation Flexible scheduling available (weekends required, at least one day) The fall is a time of year when things slow down, so a part-time position would most likely be available, full-time is an option, and will most definitely be available in the spring through the fall
