17.00 /hr About Adult & Teen Challenge Pacific Northwest Ministries Our Ministry functions as a resource for people who have found themselves in the clutches of addiction, we offer a year long program in recovery at our inpatient facilities. We endeavor to provide recovery and spiritual awakening in our students who are attending our recovery programs, and our main objective is to provide "hope within reach till all are set free". Our Super Thrift stores are an vital component to the ministry of Adult & Teen Challenge PacWest. They provide educational opportunities for students to learn job skills and positive work ethics as well as provide a source of revenue for the ministry. Working at our Super Thrift stores requires you to have a unique set of customer service skills and skills in mentoring our students who are seeking vocational training and teamwork skills.
Job Duties and Tasks:
1. Greet all customers entering the store and let them know about the sales going on. 2. Maintain a clean and orderly work area. 3. Bag, box, wrap merchandise, and lift up to 30lbs. 4. Answer the phone and direct calls according to department. 5. Answer customer's questions and provide a brief overview of the program. 6. Need a thorough working knowledge of policies and procedures relative to assigned scope of duties and responsibilities. These specifically shall include Adult & Teen Challenge Pacific Northwest personnel policies and policies as they relate to our students. 7. Possesses good standards of personal hygiene and a clean neat appearance including prescribed standards for hair and dress. 8. The ability to work in harmony with other staff personnel. 9. Emotional maturity, professional objectivity and the ability to act in a Christian manner. 10. The ability to carry out the directives of the store manager and assistant store manager.
Experience and Training:
1. High School Graduate or Equivalent is preferred. 2. Demonstrate a competency to effectively interact, work with and supervise participating students.
Special Requirements:
1. The ability to work with money and have basic math skills. 2. Physically able to handle the requirements of the position. 3. Must have excellent customer service skills. 4. Must be able to lift over 30 lbs. occasionally 5. Able to work with students in a respectful manner and display excellent teamwork skills.
