Job Title:
Material Handler / Warehouse Associate Job Description This role is responsible for receiving, storing, and issuing equipment, materials, supplies, merchandise, and tools in a stockroom, warehouse, or storage yard. The position ensures accurate inventory control, supports production by supplying materials as needed, and safely operates material handling equipment, including forklifts and a stress relieving oven, in a clean and quiet manufacturing environment. Responsibilities Receive equipment, materials, supplies, merchandise, and tools into the stockroom, warehouse, or storage yard and verify that incoming items match requisitions or invoices by counting, sorting, or weighing articles. Store materials in designated locations in an organized manner to maintain accurate stock records and facilitate efficient retrieval. Issue materials, supplies, and tools to internal departments and workers as needed, ensuring timely and accurate fulfillment of requests. Compile and maintain stock records, including quantities received, stored, and issued, to support accurate inventory management. Mark identifying codes, figures, or letters on articles as required to ensure traceability and proper identification of materials. Operate gas or electric powered forklift trucks safely to move, stack, tier, load, and unload materials in and around the plant, warehouse, stockyard, and storage areas. Properly load and operate the stress relieving oven according to established procedures and safety guidelines. Perform daily and weekly Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) tasks with accuracy and consistency to support equipment reliability and workplace organization. Inventory materials regularly to maintain accurate stock levels and proactively identify shortages or discrepancies. Supply production and other workers with required materials in a timely manner to support continuous operations. Perform MRP (Material Requirements Planning) transactions, including issues and receipts, accurately in the system to ensure correct inventory and production records. Follow all safety procedures and guidelines while handling materials and operating equipment on the production floor and in the warehouse. Maintain cleanliness and organization in work areas, including stockrooms, warehouse spaces, and production support areas. Essential Skills At least 1 year of prior material handling or inventory experience. Experience with inventory control processes such as receiving, storing, issuing, and counting materials. Ability to perform MRP transactions, including issues and receipts, or willingness to learn MRP transaction performance. Ability to safely operate gas or electric powered forklift trucks to move, stack, tier, load, and unload materials. Ability to properly load and operate a stress relieving oven following established procedures. Strong attention to detail to accurately count, sort, weigh, and verify incoming materials against requisitions or invoices. Ability to maintain accurate stock records and documentation related to inventory movements. Capability to perform daily and weekly TPM tasks consistently and accurately. A vocational or high school education or equivalent. Ability to learn trade techniques and procedures through on-the-job training. Ability to work assigned shifts, including 1st, 2nd, or weekend shifts, as scheduled. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience working in a warehouse, stockroom, or manufacturing environment. Familiarity with issuing materials and supplies to production or maintenance teams. Experience marking and labeling materials with identifying codes, figures, or letters. Comfort working on projects related to specialized industries, including military-related work. Willingness to follow structured processes and standard operating procedures. Ability to work both independently and as part of a production support team. Why Work Here? The environment includes stockrooms, warehouse areas, and a production floor where materials are moved and stored. Team members operate gas or electric powered forklifts and a stress relieving oven as part of daily operations. The workplace supports multiple shifts, including 1st shift (6:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday through Thursday), 2nd shift (4:00 p.m. to 2:00 a.m., Monday through Thursday), and a weekend 4th shift (6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., Friday through Sunday). The facility is located directly off Highway 14 in North Mankato, offering convenient access. The dress code aligns with a production and warehouse setting, emphasizing safety and practicality while working on the open production floor and in material handling areas. Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of North Mankato, MN. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $51125.00 - $54080.00/yr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors. . . .
