Job Summary:

A Merchandise Handler plays a crucial role in the retail and distribution industry by efficiently handling and processing goods, ensuring accurate inventory management, and contributing to a smooth operation of the supply chain. This position requires a combination of physical dexterity, attention to detail, and organizational skills.

Essential Job Functions:

Safely and efficiently load, unload, sort, and move merchandise, packages, or products within a warehouse, distribution center, or retail store environment. Accurately track, count, and record inventory levels using manual or electronic systems. Assist in maintaining inventory accuracy through proper handling and documentation. Pick, pack, and prepare merchandise for shipping to customers, ensuring that orders are accurate and properly packaged to prevent damage during transit. Inspect merchandise for defects, damage, or inconsistencies, reporting any issues to supervisors and following established quality control procedures. Assist in maintaining a clean and organized work area, including shelving, storage bins, and loading docks. Ensure that merchandise is stored in a safe and accessible manner. Maintain accurate records of received and shipped merchandise, including serial numbers, SKU numbers, and other relevant information. Communicate effectively with team members, supervisors, and other departments to ensure smooth coordination of merchandise handling and distribution processes. Perform other duties as assigned by management

Requirements:

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent Physical fitness for lifting and moving items Strong attention to detail Good organizational skills Teamwork and communication abilities Problem-solving skills Knowledge of safety protocols Previous experience preferred Basic computer skills Customer service skills Must be able to read, write, and speak English fluently Fluency in Spanish is highly preferred Physical demands: Frequent physical exertion, including lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling heavy merchandise or packages. Capable of lifting objects weighing 50-100 pounds. Prolonged periods of standing and walking on hard surfaces, such as concrete floors.

Working environment:

Exposure to varying temperatures, noise, and dust may be expected

Hours:
