• 23/hour We are seeking an experienced Produce Ripener for a specialized JustRipe department within a food/produce distribution operation in Dallas, TX.

00/hour, based on experience This is a specialized position. Previous commercial fruit or produce ripening experience is strongly preferred. The Ripener is responsible for planning, monitoring, and controlling the ripening process to ensure produce reaches required quality and color-stage specifications while meeting inventory and customer needs.

Responsibilities:

Manage and monitor the commercial fruit ripening process Establish and maintain ripening schedules Monitor ripening rooms and make necessary adjustments Perform quality and color-stage inspections Determine product disposition based on condition and specifications Monitor inventory and forecasted product needs Coordinate product availability with operations and other departments Inspect, sort, and grade incoming produce Maintain accurate inbound and outbound quality documentation Identify and report product that does not meet specifications Monitor shrink, inventory levels, product availability, and quality concerns Prepare and communicate operational reports Operate a forklift as needed

Qualifications:

1-2+ years of commercial fruit/produce ripening experience strongly preferred Experience with avocados, bananas, tropical fruit, or other commercially ripened produce is highly desirable Experience working with perishable products Understanding of ripening stages, product quality, and inventory control Forklift experience Strong computer skills, including Word and Excel Strong analytical and decision-making skills Excellent attention to detail Ability to work overtime, weekends, and rotating shifts as required High school diploma or equivalent Candidates with international produce ripening experience are encouraged to apply.
