General Description Provides first-level technical support to students, faculty, and staff through the Information Services and Technology Solution Center. This position assists with resolving common technology issues, answering questions, documenting support requests, and providing excellent customer service to the University community. Essential Job Duties Serve as a first point of contact for students, faculty, and staff seeking technology assistance at the Solution Center.
Provide courteous and professional technical support in person, by telephone, email, and through the University's ticketing system.
Assist users with common computer, software, account, and technology-related issues.
Troubleshoot basic hardware and software problems on University-supported computers and devices.
Assist with password resets, account access, multi-factor authentication, wireless connectivity, and other common access issues according to established procedures.
Create, update, document, and route support tickets accurately and thoroughly.
Escalate technical issues that cannot be resolved at the student support level to the appropriate Information Services & Technology staff member.
Assist with the setup, deployment, collection, and basic maintenance of University technology equipment.
Assist with basic installation and configuration of approved software and peripherals as directed by Information Services & Technology staff.
Provide basic assistance with University-supported applications, systems, and technology resources.
Follow established procedures for protecting confidential information, user accounts, and University data.
Maintain an organized and professional Solution Center workspace.
Assist with technology-related projects, inventory, equipment organization, documentation, and other departmental tasks as assigned.
Learn and follow Information Services & Technology policies, procedures, and troubleshooting documentation.
Perform other duties as assigned. Education and Experience High School Diploma or GED equivalent Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities Basic knowledge of computers, mobile devices, and common software applications.
Ability and willingness to learn new technologies and troubleshooting procedures.
Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
Ability to communicate technical information clearly and professionally.
Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to maintain confidentiality when working with university accounts, systems, and information.
