This is an opportunity for a technically trained professional with consulting experience to take on varied, meaningful work in a specialized field with strong growth potential. You will play a key role in the technical execution and delivery of projects while building client relationships and supporting the development of junior staff. This role is well suited to an experienced technical professional who enjoys solving complex challenges, working directly with clients, and taking increasing ownership of project outcomes. You will collaborate with professionals across all levels of the organization, contributing as both a technical resource and a trusted member of project teams. Your team HGC is one of North America's largest employee-owned consulting firms specializing exclusively in noise, vibration, and acoustics. Our Charlotte office is relatively new, but you'll be joining an established North American team of professionals who collaborate enthusiastically across our offices and with our clients to apply an unmatched depth of knowledge, experience, and innovation to address unique challenges across the full spectrum of noise, vibration, and acoustics. Your key functions & responsibilities You will contribute to all phases of project delivery, including: Conducting field measurements and instrumentation-based data collection Developing acoustical models to analyze project conditions Performing technical analyses, interpreting results, and developing practical solutions Preparing technical reports, documentation, and project deliverables Reviewing project work to maintain high standards of technical quality Coordinating project activities, schedules, and deliverables with internal and external project teams Supporting proposal preparation and responding to client inquiries Serving as a primary day-to-day contact for clients on assigned projects Monitoring project budgets and schedules with support from senior project leaders Providing technical guidance and mentorship to junior staff Developing your areas of technical specialization and contributing to HGC's thought leadership initiatives Representing HGC professionally with clients, regulators, and industry stakeholders Your characteristics, skills & knowledge The ideal candidate is an experienced consulting professional who is ready to take increasing ownership of technical work, client relationships, and project delivery while continuing to grow within a specialized consulting environment.

Successful candidates will demonstrate:

Strong technical knowledge of acoustics, noise, vibration, or related technical disciplines Experience with measurement instrumentation, modelling, simulation, and data analysis Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities Excellent written and verbal communication skills Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Ability to manage competing priorities and adapt to changing project requirements A collaborative approach and commitment to client service Sound professional judgement and personal accountability Working knowledge of project coordination and management principles Proficiency with Microsoft Office and relevant technical software Ability to review technical drawings, specifications, and project documentation Your education & career experience An undergraduate degree in engineering, physics, acoustics, building science, or a related technical field of study is required 3+ years of relevant consulting experience in noise, vibration, acoustics, or a related technical field Experience in a dynamic consulting environment, particularly within architecture, engineering, construction (AEC), or industrial sectors Experience coordinating or managing projects, including budgets, schedules, deliverables, and client relationships Demonstrated ability to coordinate project deliverables and work effectively with multidisciplinary teams Preferred or considered an asset: Eligibility for, progress toward, or attainment of Professional Engineer (PE) licensure in at least one U.S. jurisdiction, where applicable Experience preparing proposals and supporting business development activities Experience mentoring or providing technical guidance to junior staff More about HGC and what we offer We offer a competitive salary and benefits package, along with opportunities to grow professionally, advance your career, and build specialized expertise within one of North America's leading noise, vibration, and acoustics consulting firms.
