We're looking to expand our team by adding a technical sales scientist to based near a biotechnology hub in the Mid-Atlantic or possibly Southeast region (South of New York down through the Carolinas). You will build on an existing, productive territory and contribute directly to our nationwide growth. Responsibilities include:
Develop and maintain strong relationships with our current and potential customer base through: Prioritized travel to and from customer sites for in-person visits Daily communication via professional email, video, and phone correspondence Conference and exhibition attendance throughout the country Growing a strong technical understanding of our product line and applications Reading and responding to customer requests with a high level of interpersonal skill Writing and presenting technical sales quotations directly to customers Maintaining organized files of ongoing leads, opportunities, and projects — primarily using a CRM Organizing and attending smaller regional networking events and exhibitions Strong virtual meeting skills with both customers and colleagues Present scientific and/or technical materials to large groups Opportunity to specialize your role within the sales organization with background in bioprocess, applied technology, marketing, CRM utilization or similar skillset (Maybe not applied technology if that is too threatening to Mike…but we always talked about an east coast Mike) Overall overnight travel, often requiring flights, expectation up to 25-3 5 % Local customer travel (home after work) once/twice per week.
Minimum Qualifications:
4-year degree in Science, Business, Engineering, or a related discipline Hands-on bench experience in the life sciences would be ideal, OR experience selling into the life sciences / biopharmaceutical industry Ability to work from a remote office within the territory
Preferred Skills:
Strong demonstrated technical writing and presentation skills Understanding of biological sciences and knowledge of the biopharmaceutical industry Experience in capital equipment sales Proficiency in common software such as Microsoft Office Experience using a
CRM We Offer:
Highly competitive all-base salary (no commission) of $110k-$150k plus annual bonus, 401(k) with match and 401k profit-sharing, full health benefits including dental, vision, and family coverage, life insurance, generous paid time off, parental leave, professional development assistance, tuition reimbursement, car benefit, and LTD coverage.
