Job Description

Category Schools - LPN Nurse Job Type Contract Step into a rewarding role supporting medically fragile students in a dynamic educational setting. Two experienced LPNs are needed immediately to provide dedicated, one-on-one care through the end of June, with the possibility of extending. Ideal candidates will have a background in pediatric or young adult care and be confident with complex medical needs such as tracheostomies, g-tubes, diabetes, and seizure management. Previous work in a school, LTAC, or similar environment is a strong asset. One role is based at an elementary school in the west side area (32.5 hours per week), while the second centers around a high school in Brockport (also 32.5 hours per week). Actual hours may be closer to 30 per week due to scheduled lunch breaks. Both positions are full-time and involve direct support for medically fragile students—one position includes accompanying a student on the bus, and the other involves providing care upon arrival at the school.
Key Qualifications & Experience:
Active LPN/LVN license for New York State Pediatric and/or young adult nursing experience strongly preferred Skilled in managing complex needs: tracheostomies, g-tubes, diabetes, seizures Familiarity with Long-Term Acute Care (LTAC) settings beneficial Previous school nursing experience highly valued Reliable transportation and ability to work assigned hours Strong communication skills and commitment to student safety
Responsibilities:
Deliver direct, compassionate care to assigned student(s) throughout the school day Administer medications, monitor vital signs, and respond to medical emergencies Provide seamless clinical support during bus rides or at school as required Collaborate with faculty, parents, and healthcare providers for individualized care planning Maintain detailed health documentation per school and regulatory standards For candidates who bring exceptional experience, the compensation range starts at $32-$35 per hour, with consideration for higher rates based on qualifications.
