Qualification Requirements:
Active NY state RN license required AHA BLS Certification mandatory Telemetry experience required Minimum 2 years of nursing experience, with exposure to psychiatric or behavioral health environments preferred
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct comprehensive intake assessments, gathering detailed case histories from patients and relatives Develop and implement individualized nursing care plans Assess and diagnose emotional and medical statuses; recommend and coordinate appropriate treatment options Collaborate with psychiatrists and behavioral health professionals to design effective care strategies Administer medications and monitor responses, particularly psychotropic agents Educate patients about their emotional health and treatment needs Promote a safe, therapeutic environment for all patients and staff Monitor vital signs, address pain management, and meticulously document all care provided Uphold patient confidentiality and accurate record-keeping in accordance with medical standards Manage administrative tasks such as progress note entry, filing, and phone correspondence Deliver courteous, high-quality service to patients and families at all points of care
