Job Description
Job Summary The Bus Monitor plays a crucial role in ensuring the safety and well-being of students during their transportation to and from school. This position involves monitoring student behavior, assisting with boarding and disembarking, and could include providing support to students with special needs. The ideal candidate will have experience working with children and possess strong communication skills to effectively interact with students, parents, and school staff. Now Hiring Part-Time School Bus Monitor No experience as a school bus monitor is required! We're proud to train you with our industry-leading technology to help you succeed. A split shift, which means an early morning before-school pickup and an after-school drop-off with a few free hours in between. A guaranteed shift of (4) hours per school day Additional hours gained through trips and charters when available. $15.00/hour starting wage. Duties Supervise students while they are on the bus, ensuring their safety and adherence to rules. Assist students in boarding and disembarking the bus safely. Communicate effectively with students to provide guidance and support. Manage conflicts among students in a calm and constructive manner. Educate students on appropriate behavior while on the bus. Provide assistance to students with special needs as required. Implement behavior management strategies to promote a positive environment. Qualifications Experience working with children in a classroom or childcare setting is preferred. Strong communication skills to effectively interact with students, parents, and staff. Knowledge of special education practices is a plus. Ability to manage conflicts and maintain order among students. Familiarity with first aid procedures is beneficial. A compassionate attitude towards children and a commitment to their well-being. Previous experience in behavior management is an asset. This position requires a dedicated individual who is passionate about supporting students' needs while ensuring their safety during transportation. This position is subject to DOT drug testing as a safety-sensitive employee. DOT Regulation 49 CFR Part 40 does not authorize the use of Schedule I drugs, including marijuana, for any reason.
