Job Description
Category Schools - PT Job Type Contract Step into a rewarding contract opportunity working as a Physical Therapist in a supportive school environment for the 2026-2027 academic year. Utilize your specialized expertise to make a significant impact on students' physical development, collaborate with dedicated staff, and support students in achieving their fullest academic and functional potential.
Qualifications & Preferred Experience:
Active Physical Therapist license in North Carolina (or eligibility to obtain) Previous experience working with children or in a school setting is highly valued Strong knowledge of pediatric physical therapy best practices and relevant assessments Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with educators, parents, and support personnel Skilled in developing and implementing individualized therapy plans (IEPs) for diverse student needs Capable of maintaining accurate documentation and progress reports in compliance with state and district requirementsKey Responsibilities:
Assess and identify students' physical therapy needs within the school environment Develop individualized treatment plans to help students increase mobility, coordination, and participation in school activities Deliver direct and consultative therapy services, both individually and in group settings Participate in IEP meetings, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to set and achieve functional goals Educate staff and families on strategies to enhance student progress Document student performance and maintain thorough records of therapy interventions Provide recommendations for adaptive equipment and classroom modifications as needed In this role, you'll positively influence student outcomes while experiencing a vibrant school community.
