Job Description

Category Schools - PT Job Type Contract Step into an impactful role supporting student success as a Physical Therapist for the upcoming school year. This contract opportunity is ideal for professionals committed to empowering children and collaborating with a dynamic educational team. With a flexible schedule of 1-2 days per week (8-16 hours, depending on your availability), you'll make a significant difference while balancing your personal and professional life. As a Physical Therapist in this role, you'll serve students by completing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs), conducting initial evaluations and re-evaluations, and partnering closely with a dedicated therapy staff. You will also have the unique chance to provide guidance and co-supervise two onsite Physical Therapist Assistants, working in tandem with another experienced Physical Therapist. This position is perfect if you excel in a team environment and are passionate about child development.
Desired Skills and Experience:
Licensed Physical Therapist in Illinois (required) Prior experience in school-based or pediatric settings preferred Strong knowledge of IEP process and relevant documentation standards Excellent communication and organizational abilities Ability to mentor and collaborate with Physical Therapist Assistants Commitment to best practices in therapy for a diverse student population
Primary Responsibilities:
Conduct assessments, develop goals, and write IEPs in partnership with school staff Complete student evaluations and re-evaluations to determine therapy needs Oversee and collaborate with Physical Therapist Assistants to deliver effective interventions Maintain accurate and timely records Communicate with families, teachers, and interdisciplinary teams to support student progress This role runs from August 2026 through May 2027, aligning with the academic calendar.
