Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and energetic School Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) to join our dynamic educational team. In this vital role, you will support speech therapy services within school settings, working closely with students, teachers, and speech-language pathologists to promote effective communication skills. Your enthusiasm and expertise will help create a positive learning environment where every student can thrive. Duties Assist licensed speech-language pathologists in implementing individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with communication challenges Provide direct support to students during speech therapy sessions, including practicing speech exercises and activities Prepare therapy materials and assist in setting up treatment areas to ensure smooth session flow Monitor student progress and document observations to inform therapy adjustments Collaborate with teachers and other school staff to integrate communication strategies into classroom activities Support early intervention programs by working with children at various developmental stages Maintain accurate records of therapy sessions, progress notes, and related documentation in compliance with school policies Requirements Prior experience working with children in educational or clinical settings is highly preferred Knowledge of pediatrics, physiology, anatomy, and medical terminology relevant to speech therapy Familiarity with acute care environments and medical procedures is a plus Strong understanding of speech therapy techniques, early intervention strategies, and IEP processes Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively with students of diverse needs Ability to collaborate within multidisciplinary teams and adapt to different classroom environments Certification or training as an SLPA or related credential is desirable but not mandatory; willingness to obtain necessary certifications is appreciated Join us in empowering students through effective communication! Pay:
$45.00 - $48.00 per hour
