Job Description
Category Schools - SLPA Job Type Contract Step into a meaningful contract opportunity supporting elementary students with speech and language needs! A skilled Speech-Language Pathologist Assistant (SLPA) is needed to help facilitate interventions for a caseload of approximately 35 students. You'll play a vital part in a supportive school environment, collaborating closely with both educators and the supervising Speech-Language Pathologist. Your impact will be felt in both individual and small group sessions, tailored to meet diverse goal areas for student growth.
Qualifications & Experience:
Valid SLPA licensure or certification compliant with state requirements Experience or training working within a school setting, preferably at the elementary level Strong understanding of best practices for delivering speech and language services Excellent communication skills for working with children, teachers, and school staff Ability to organize, track, and maintain thorough documentation and progress records Collaborative spirit and a passion for student developmentYour Responsibilities:
Provide direct speech and language therapy services to students, both one-on-one and in small groups, tailored to individual IEP goals Work alongside classroom staff to integrate strategies and support across learning environments Monitor and document student progress meticulously, maintaining accurate service and data records Communicate regularly with the supervising Speech-Language Pathologist for guidance, strategy updates, and collaborative planning Contribute actively to a team focused on student success Observe confidentiality and ethical standards in all interactions This is an opportunity to make a real difference in a vibrant elementary school community located near Davis, CA.
