Program Description:
The Learning House, a private therapeutic day school located in Wheeling, IL serving junior and high school students, is seeking a School Therapist (LSW/LCSW/ LCPC/LMFT) with strong clinical skills in the areas of individual, family and group counseling to join our staff. The Learning House is a year-round program for students who have been determined eligible to receive special education services in the categories of ED/SLD/OHI and Autism. The Learning House integrates individualized education, vocational support, individual, group and family counseling, and experiential activities to encourage students to develop a sense of self worth and mutual respect; healthy decision making; responsibility and accountability; a sense of community; and a successful future. Job Description :
The School Therapist is responsible for providing direct clinical individual and group counseling to students throughout the day and has a caseload averaging 8-10 students. The School Therapist reports directly to the Clinical Director and Executive Director and works collaboratively with administrators, counselors, parents, and teachers to implement the program and facilitate student growth and change in this year-round program. This listing is for a Part-time position (25 hours/wk) or a Full-time position.
Qualifications:
Master's Degree in Counseling, Masters degree in clinical profession which may include, but is not limited to, psychology, social work or other related field. Appropriate and current licensure (LSW/LCSW/LCPC/LMFT). Strong interpersonal skills, organizational abilities, effective written and oral communication, and the capacity to efficiently manage responsibilities and timelines. Ability to speak Spanish a plus.
