Assistant Astronomer (Paid Training No Experience Required) Now Hiring - One Position Available Have you ever wanted to work under some of the darkest skies in Arizona while helping people experience the wonders of the universe? Sedona Stargazing Tours, one of the world's most recognized astronomy tour companies, is seeking an enthusiastic, dependable, and detail-oriented Assistant Astronomer to join our team. No astronomy experience is required. We provide all training. For over 24 years, Sedona Stargazing Tours has introduced hundreds of thousands of guests to the night sky. We have earned TripAdvisor's Certificate of Excellence for 17 consecutive years, rank among the top 10% of attractions worldwide, and were inducted into the TripAdvisor Hall of Fame. Position Details

- Up to 4 evenings per week
- 8:00 PM - 11:00 PM
- Approximately 3 hours per shift
- Observing site located about 10 minutes from Sedona Responsibilities
- Assemble and set up multiple Celestron
CPC 1100
telescopes.- Position telescopes in their designated viewing locations.
- Align and calibrate each telescope before guests arrive.
- Assist the lead astronomer throughout the evening.
- Help guests view celestial objects by adjusting telescope focus as needed.
- Keep objects centered in the eyepiece and select targets using the telescope's computerized hand controller.
- Store and secure all equipment at the end of each evening. Compensation
- $125 per evening (approximately 3 hours)

- Weekly pay This is an independent contractor position (no benefits). Requirements
- No experience necessary—we provide paid training.
- Friendly, reliable, and comfortable working with the public.
- Ability to lift and place a 25-pound telescope onto a tripod.
- Dependable transportation and punctuality.
- Ability to work outdoors in the evening.
