Job Title:
Sample Preparation Specialist Job Description As a Sample Preparation Specialist, you will be responsible for preparing test articles using various techniques such as cutting, weighing, rinsing, mixing, extracting, sterilization, dilutions, and aliquoting per established protocols. You will ensure samples meet dimensional, surface, identification, and sterility requirements prior to testing. Responsibilities Perform solvent feasibility studies, chemical extractions, and non-volatile residue (NVR) analysis to support chemical characterization and biocompatibility testing (ISO

Accurately document sample preparation, observations, and results following ALCOA++ principles and GMP requirements. Prepare test result summaries for scientists and maintain SDS documentation. Maintain, clean, and calibrate basic laboratory equipment such as incubators, ovens, balances, pH meters, and rotary evaporators. Prepare chemical solutions, sterile glassware, and consumables; organize and restock the prep lab. Train new team members on procedures, equipment use, and safe handling of chemicals and samples. Essential Skills Bachelor's degree in Biology, Chemistry, Biomedical Engineering, or related field. 1-3 years of hands-on laboratory experience; regulated or medical device environments preferred. Experience with analytical chemistry and/or biocompatibility testing methods. Proficiency in solution preparation, serial dilutions, and sample concentration. Strong attention to detail with accurate documentation in a GMP setting. Knowledge of chemical safety and hazardous waste handling. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced lab environment. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience in a GMP environment. Familiarity with medical devices and lab support. Work Environment The position is onsite in Hercules, with a work schedule of 8am to 5pm, Monday through Friday. The work environment is a fast-paced laboratory setting, requiring adherence to safety protocols and use of standard laboratory equipment. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Hercules, CA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $31.25
  • $40.86/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
