Job Description

DonLevy Laboratories, part of the IEH Laboratories and Consulting Group, is now accepting applications for a Microbiology Support Technician position at its facility in Crown Point, IN. DonLevy Laboratories is an independent, commercial, food testing laboratory dedicated to food safety and committed to quality challenges throughout the supply chain. We perform microbiological and chemistry analyses on environmental, raw material, and finished product samples submitted by food companies industry-wide. Ideal candidates will possess the following:
  • A high school diploma or GED (required); an associate degree in Biology or related field (preferred)
  • Proficiency with data entry and computer applications
  • Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong understanding of aseptic technique in the laboratory Microbiology Support Technician duties include media and sample preparation, documentation of lab functions, cleaning lab equipment and tools, daily quality control, basic laboratory maintenance, and other duties as assigned.
The schedule for this position is Monday through Friday, starting at 12:00pm. This position does not have a designated end time, as the end time varies depending on sample load. This is a full-time position and is eligible for standard benefits after a brief waiting period. The laboratory operates on holidays so work may be required on some holidays.
