Job Description

What We're Looking For The Environmental Monitoring Technician's duties and functions include providing daily support to client's Environmental Team and daily operational support of environmental monitoring (EM) services to the aseptic production areas. Environmental Monitoring Technician will support activities in the cleanroom, laminar flow hoods and other controlled environments. What You Will Do Perform EM of the classified aseptic production areas based on manufacturing schedules (daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly). Perform EM activities to include but not limited to collection of samples of by means of contact plates, viable air sampling, non-viable particulate counts, and personnel monitoring. Provide technical assistance and back up support to daily operations regarding EM. Capable of performing aseptic gowning and meet aseptic gowning qualifications. Support aseptic media fills. Perform training activities, as assigned, and meet training schedule timelines. Record data specific to EM during operations, maintaining current and accurate documentation. Ensure compliance with all company policies and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). Maintain familiarity with use of all applicable equipment. Notifying supervisors of equipment related issues, assisting with equipment maintenance, as required. Follows best practices, quality trends, and regulatory requirements. Maintain a clean, orderly, and safe work environment. As determined, other relatable functions and special projects or activities, as assigned. Who You Are Bachelor's degree in Microbiology or related science field, including at least 12 semester hours of hands on laboratory courses in microbiology and/or chemistry 0 to 2 years of pharmaceutical/biochemical QC laboratory experience Demonstrated relevant experience in a microbiology laboratory (Q.C., pharmaceutical, biotech or clinical lab experience preferred), where one or more of the following functions was successfully performed: sterility testing, endotoxin testing, antibiotic assays, environmental monitoring, microbial identification and/or microbial limit testing (MLT) Experience with aseptic process simulation is a plus Excellent analytical, decision making and interpersonal skills Excellent verbal and written communication skills Excellent organizational skills and be able to prioritize multiple Excellent organizational skills and be able to prioritize multiple activities and tasks Possesses independent work skills and a strong work ethic Flexible and able to work under pressure and meet schedule and project timelines (weekend and off shift work) Working knowledge and understanding of microbiology principles and methods and the ability to communicate this information to others Ability to solve routine laboratory issues/problems Physical dexterity to accurately and precisely perform testing Ability to read, understand and comply with Company policies and SOPs, including safety rules and regulations Entry level computer skills in
