Pathology & Laboratory Medicine Location New Orleans, LA Open Date Sep 27, 2024 Description The Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine - AAU Division of Molecular & Cellular Medicine is seeking an Instructor. Duties include but are not limited to:
Education:
Supervise, and evaluate graduate/PhD students and undergraduate students in research environment Perform research tasks collect data for manuscripts and publications Make effort towards submitting grant applications Support PIs grant submission proposal applications
Administrative:
Supervise and evaluate graduate/PhD students and undergraduate students; provide regular input for students and staff; QA data collection and reporting, departmental policy and procedure improvements Qualifications Candidates should have a recent or upcoming PhD or MD/PhD degree. A strong record of peer-reviewed publications published in high impact journals in related fields is essential. Candidates should have an excellent work ethic, initiative, time management skills, and be well-organized and self-motivated, with the ability to work independently, publish findings in peer-reviewed scientific journals, and collaborate with other team members. Candidates should possess strong written and oral communication skills, and strong critical thinking and problem solving abilities. Candidates should be able to supervise Lab Ph.D. students and technician to perform research projects. Candidates should be able to perform routine lab work and tasks as assigned by the principal investigator (PI). Candidates should be able to write grant application and develop new research projects. Candidates should have research experience and a strong research background in at least one of the following areas: Genetics, molecular biology, cell biology, biochemistry, and cell signaling Mouse models of skeletal diseases and metabolic diseases, stem cell biology, tissue regeneration, and CRISPR/Cas9 gene-editing Computational biology, bioinformatics, and biostatistics, including analyses of scRNA-seq data, RNA-seq data, ChIP-seq data, and proficient in statistical and programming languages Epigenetics, transcriptional and post-transcriptional gene regulation, RNA biology and protein structure biology Aging biology, immunology, inflammation diseases and cancer immunotherapy Application Instructions Please submit an application using Interfolio via the "Apply Now" button on this page.
