Send job Job Details We're seeking Postdoctoral Fellows for two positions at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai (NYC). 1. Postdoctoral Fellow in Molecular Neuroscience (Joint position between O'Loughlin and Xiaoting Wu labs ) Dr. O'Loughlin's lab ( https://labs.neuroscience.mssm.edu/project/oloughlin-lab/ ) uses functional genomics (CRISPRa/i), proteomics, metabolomics, and biochemistry to uncover targetable vulnerabilities in diseases driven by metabolic dysfunction. Dr. Xiaoting Wu's lab ( https://labs.neuroscience.mssm.edu/project/wu-lab/ ) explores how neural population dynamics, neural circuit and synaptic plasticity support social cognitive behaviors including social memory, and decision-making using approaches that span molecular, synaptic, and systems neuroscience such as optogenetics, miniscope imaging, slice electrophysiology, and single-cell transcriptomics. The joint position will develop and apply functional genomics tools to understand neurobiology underlying social cognitive deficits. For this position, we are looking for candidates with a PhD (or equivalent) in neuroscience, cell biology or a related field. Ideal applicants will have expertise in one or more of the following areas: molecular and cell biology techniques such as molecular cloning, cell culture, flow cytometry; rodent handling skills in behavioral assays; or basic computational skills in python or R. Postdoctoral Fellow in Systems Neuroscience of Social Cognition Dr. Xiaoting Wu's lab is seeking a motivated Postdoctoral Fellow to explore the neural mechanisms of social cognition. For this position, we are looking for candidates with a PhD (or equivalent) in neuroscience or a related field. Ideal applicants will have expertise in one or more of the following areas: preferentially patch-clamp electrophysiology; other areas include behavioral neuroscience, particularly using optogenetics or in vivo imaging; molecular techniques such as single-cell RNA sequencing; or computational approaches to neural data analysis and modeling.
