Position Summary The primary goal of this position is to investigate and characterize the molecular events that regulate calcium-induced, reactive oxygen species-sensitized, mitochondrial dysfunction that occurs during ischemia/reperfusion injury model and chronic disease. The selected candidate will use a computational approach to integrate experimental data into a quantitative framework and aid in interpreting the bioenergetic and physiological changes associated with mitochondrial dysfunction in cardiac myocytes. This is an off-date position funded for one year from date of hire with possible extension contingent upon funding renewal and satisfactory performance.
