Job Description The Model and Inventory Assistant supports the clinical skills
curriculum by collaborating with the Coordinator of Clinical Skills to
design, build, and maintain high-quality teaching models. This position
ensures that models are functional, durable, and aligned with
curricular objectives while assisting with laboratory preparation.
Management of OPCVM inventory in conjunction with the Operations
Section. The role requires creativity, technical proficiency, and the
ability to collaborate with faculty, staff, and students to enhance
veterinary education and maintain effective resource management
Required Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent
Valid and current driver's license
Additional Requirements:
The offer of employment is contingent upon the candidate meeting
all University driver eligibility requirements.
This position may require occasional overnight travel for
program-related activities.
Preferred Qualifications Experience in silicone-based molding, woodworking, construction,
or model-building
Knowledge of university program goals and objectives
Familiarity with the veterinary medical field
Relevant experience in higher education

Job Duty
Job Duty Assist the Coordinator of Clinical Skills, in consultation with faculty, in designing and constructing clinical skills teaching models.
Job Duty Create models and related learning materials to enhance student learning in alignment with curricular goals
Job Duty Monitor the condition of existing models, performing routine maintenance, repairs, or replacements as needed
Job Duty Innovatively solve model-related challenges related to durability, tactile properties, and functionality
Job Duty Maintain accurate documentation of the model construction process and specifications
Job Duty Work in support of the main campus CIVET workshop and the Director of CVM Model Building at the Harrogate, TN campus
Job Duty Assist with setup and breakdown of clinical skills laboratories, ensuring models, equipment, and consumables are available.
Job Duty Support veterinary technicians and faculty during laboratory sessions as needed
Job Duty Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work and laboratory environment
Job Duty Maintain accurate records of teaching models, tools, and supply inventory
Job Duty Track usage and forecast needs to ensure adequate availability of resources
Job Duty Coordinate ordering, receiving, storage, and distribution of supplies
Job Duty Work collaboratively with faculty on interdisciplinary projects involving clinical skills models
Job Duty Supervise veterinary student research assistants contributing to model development or inventory management
Job Duty Participate in departmental, College, and University committees and initiatives.
Job Duty Engage in community outreach and educational programs related to veterinary medicine and animal health
Job Duty Foster effective working relationships among faculty, staff, and students
Job Duty Maintain professionalism and courtesy in all interactions
Job Duty Perform related duties in support of the College's and University's mission and evolving needs
