Environmental Field Technician

Environmental Field Technician Environmental Systems Service, Ltd (ESS) is an environmental services company that has been operating in Virginia for more than 50 years. We are currently looking a motivated and detail oriented individual to join our team as a full-time Environmental Field Technician. This is a great opportunity for recent graduates or early-career professionals who want hands-on experience in environmental fieldwork. In this role, you will work both independently and alongside a team to support a variety of environmental projects

• from field sampling to data analysis
• while building valuable technical and client relationship skills. Preferred Qualifications Degree in Environmental Science, Biology, or a related field is strongly preferred Field experience is plus, but not required
• will train right candidate Skills and Requirements Applicants should be able to: Follow written and verbal instructions Work both independently and as part of a team Stay organized and meet deadlines Understand scientific data and help prepare reports Use Microsoft Excel Communicate professionally with clients Use water quality testing and sampling equipment Additional responsibilities may include coordinating sample collection events and helping prepare project quotes.

Driver Requirements Must have a valid driver's license for at least 3 years Clean driving record (DMV driving record will be required if selected for an interview) Job Duties This position may include: Collecting samples of drinking water, wastewater, groundwater, stormwater, and soil Preserving and delivering samples to laboratories Driving company vehicles to field sites Operating and maintaining sampling equipment and hand tools Recording field data and preparing technical reports Data entry and organization Assisting with quality assurance and quality control (QA/QC) Maintaining standard operating procedures (SOPs) Calibrating field equipment Participating in ongoing safety training Completing other assigned duties as needed Pay Salary will be based on experience and qualifications and will be determined individually.
