Location US-CT-Groton Seat Location EB Groton Shipyard Trade Engineering Shift 2nd Security Clearance Required Secret Overview Laboratory Services is seeking a detail-oriented Analytical Chemistry Lab technician to support submarine construction programs and to comply with state and federal requirements. A background in analytical chemistry techniques (ICP-OES/MS, Benchtop Wet Chemistry, Cleanrooms, Oil Analysis, etc.) is a plus. Upon hiring, qualification in the Nuclear Water Chemistry Lab is a requirement. Maintaining these qualifications indefinitely is a requirement for the position. The candidate will be required to frequently access Shipyard Construction areas. This work can be physically demanding requiring the individual to carry sampling equipment throughout the shipyard and aboard submarines in all weather conditions. The individual must be capable of entering confined and enclosed spaces, able to climb ladders and stairs and able to work at heights. The candidate will be cross-trained in additional areas as needed. Qualifications Required High School Diploma/GED
Minimum of 2 years experience working in an analytical chemistry laboratory
Ability to obtain a Secret Clearance Preferred Bachelor's degree in Chemistry or related field
Navy experience (ELT) Skills Proficient in the use of standard laboratory equipment and techniques
Experience with water, oil, metals analysis a plus
Attention to detail, ability to work independently
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, ability to work effectively as a team
Experience with various analytical software and proficient in Microsoft Office
