On-site Pay Rate:
$22/hr - $24/hr We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Laboratory Technician to support materials testing, surface characterization, product development, and quality evaluation in a research and development environment. This contract opportunity is ideal for recent graduates looking to gain hands-on experience with laboratory testing, material processing, and advanced manufacturing technologies while working alongside engineering and laboratory teams. Responsibilities Perform routine materials testing and characterization following established laboratory procedures. Prepare samples and conduct physical, mechanical, and surface property evaluations. Accurately document laboratory observations, test data, and results. Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory equipment used for materials testing and analysis. Assist with material processing, coating, and surface treatment activities. Support product development, research, and quality control projects by analyzing material performance. Collaborate with engineers and laboratory personnel to investigate issues and support continuous improvement initiatives. Follow laboratory safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized work environment. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Materials Science & Engineering, Materials Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Polymer Science, or a related engineering or scientific discipline required. 0-2 years of laboratory, research, manufacturing, internship, or co-op experience. Recent graduates are encouraged to apply. Basic knowledge of materials characterization, mechanical testing, polymers, metals, ceramics, or surface engineering principles. Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel. Strong analytical, organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented laboratory environment.
Pay:
$22.00 - $24.00 per hour
