09/21/2026 The City of Lexington is seeking a Gas Technician Apprentice I,II, or III to join our team of utility professionals. This member of the crew is responsible for semi-skilled and/or skilled work in the construction, installation, maintenance and repair of the City's N atural Gas facilities. We will train entry level candidates, however experience in the natural gas industry is a definite plus. Check out the great benefits the City has to offer. Gas Technician Apprentice Minimum Qualifications Graduation from high school or GED Valid NC driver's license or valid out-of-state driver's license with the ability to obtain a valid NC driver's license within sixty days of employment and good driving record Gas Technician I Minimum Qualifications Graduation from high school or GED One year of experience in gas industry Valid NC driver's license or valid out-of-state driver's license with the ability to obtain a valid NC driver's license within sixty days of employment and good driving record Gas Line Fusion certification Gas Technician II Minimum Qualifications Graduation from high school or GED Two years of experience in gas industry Valid NC Class A commercial driver's license (CDL) or valid out-of-state Class A CDL with the ability to transfer to NC Class A CDL within sixty days of employment and good driving record Gas Line Fusion certification Gas Technician III Minimum Qualifications Graduation from high school or GED Four years of experience in skilled gas utility work Valid NC Class A commercial driver's license (CDL) or valid out-of-state Class A CDL with the ability to transfer to NC Class A CDL within sixty days of employment and good driving record Gas Line Fusion certification Work Schedule Monday- Thursday 7:00AM
