TECH MET, INC. - GLASSPORT, PA WHO WE ARE
Tech Met, Inc. an employee-owned company, is a leader in custom and standard chemical milling. Providing services to the Aerospace, Medical, Military and Commercial markets with precision chemical milling on fabricated components since 1988, we specialize in complex and precise chemical milling for build to print and custom projects on a wide variety of materials.
THE POSITION
Our growing company has an opening for a Chemical Milling Technician I. The preferred candidate should have experience working in a manufacturing or manufacturing-related position. This position performs chemical milling operations in support of production. This position may involve exposure to hazardous chemicals and requires the wearing of Personal Protective Equipment, which is supplied by the company. This is a full-time position, on daylight shift operations at our Glassport facility.
RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES
Etches specified portions of metal parts and materials using immersion equipment, templates, hand tools, and precision measuring instruments Reads and signs off on all requirements of the Job Control Form (JCN) and process specifications to determine etch rate, finished dimensions, and method and sequence of operations Cleans surface of parts and materials to remove contaminants Immerses parts in and out of tanks and measures specified removal using precision measuring instruments May require the operation of overhead cranes and other lifting equipment Add chemical additions to process tanks Performs other duties as assigned Maintains full compliance with Company policies and procedures and conducts all activities in accordance with the Company Code of Conduct
REQUIRED SKILLS
Minimum of a high school diploma or a general education diploma (GED) Requires Heavy Lifting of Parts 30lbs + and up to 100lbs with assistance Must be able to read & use a non-metric measuring tape Must be able to count & perform simple mathematics (addition, subtraction, multiplication, & division) Must be able to read & use precision measuring equipment, including calipers, thickness gauges, and micrometers. Previous experience operating cranes, a forklift and/or pallet jack a plus Ability to support Donora location when needed Position requires various schedules when necessary, including weekend hours and/or evening
