Laboratory Analyst (Pet Food Quality Testing)

Schedule :

Monday-Friday (8am-4:30pm) OR Tuesday-Saturday (8am-4:30pm) Position Overview We are seeking a Laboratory Analyst to support quality control testing in a pet food laboratory environment. In this role, you will perform analytical testing on raw materials and finished products to evaluate nutritional content, product stability, and shelf life. Samples will be prepared by a separate team and provided for analysis using a variety of laboratory instruments and techniques. Key Responsibilities Perform quality control testing on raw materials and finished pet food products. Conduct chromatography and other analytical testing to assess: Nutritional content (vitamins, minerals, proteins, fats) Product stability and shelf life Raw ingredient and finished product quality Operate and maintain laboratory instrumentation, including:

HPLC GC ICP / ICP-MS

Mass Spectrometry Leco Protein Analyzers Fat Extractors Auto Titrators Wet Chemistry equipment Prepare, collect, and analyze samples according to laboratory procedures. Record data, document findings, and prepare reports. Assist with testing related to nutritional studies, raw ingredients, developmental products, pre-mixes, and finished products. Follow laboratory safety guidelines and perform routine equipment checks and maintenance. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Food Science, Biology, Natural Sciences, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or a related field preferred. Previous analytical chemistry or laboratory experience preferred. Experience with HPLC, GC, or ICP instrumentation is highly desired. Additional experience with LC-MS/MS, ICP-OES, or GC-FID is a plus. Strong attention to detail and ability to follow established laboratory procedures. Experience in food, pharmaceutical, or quality control laboratory environments is preferred. Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate has a strong foundation in analytical chemistry and hands-on experience with laboratory instrumentation. Candidates with backgrounds in chemistry, food science, biology, or related scientific fields who have worked in a laboratory setting will be most successful in this role. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $27.50 - $27.50/hr.
